What time can I hire a space?
The building is open weekdays all year round excluding bank holidays. We are able to hire the venue
on weekends but advance booking is required and is subject to availability. If your booking is outside
of normal working hours please contact the booking team who will be happy to advise.

How many toilets are there?
On the ground floor there six unisex toilets and two additional disabled toilet/wet rooms.
Downstairs there is one disabled toilet with a hoist to assist with changing.


Are you wheelchair accessible?
Yes, we have multiple disabled toilets and a lift to allow access to the downstairs area.


Do you have onsite parking?
There is only a very small car park at Southside with spaces for disabled parking. It is advised to park
on the street around the youth hub.


Are there catering facilities at the venue?
Refreshments can be organised via our café. They can provide a variety of different services
including tea/coffee, buffet lunches and hot meals. Please contact the café directly on 01225 447145
if you would like more information.


Can I use the equipment already at Southside?
You are welcome to use the tables and chairs at Southside for your event. If there is a certain set up
you need please let us know at the time of booking and we will endeavour to prepare this for you in
advance. There is a projector and smartboard in the main hall that can be used. We have a range of
adaptors that enables the projector to be connected to most laptops. Please let the bookings team
know if you need help setting this up.


Can we use our own equipment or use an external supplier?
You are welcome to use external suppliers of bouncy castle, children’s entertainment etc. in the
main hall. Please check room dimensions or contact the bookings team if unsure. If you are bringing
your own music system (CD player etc) please ensure the volume isn’t loud enough to disrupt
anyone else using the building.


Do I need to organise cleaning of the space after my event?
All rooms must be left as they were found on arrival. All rubbish must be collected by the hirers and
can be left in the bins on site. Basic cleaning supplies will be left out for you to use.
Do I have to pay for the set-up and pack-away time of my booking?
All set-up and pack away time must be included in the booking. Please consider this at the time of


Can you help us promote our event?
We are happy to promote your event with posters at the youth hub or via our Facebook page. Please
forward any marketing information to the bookings team.


Are dogs allowed in the building?
Only guide dogs or assistance dogs are allowed in the building.


Do I have to pay a deposit for damages?
We do not expect you to pay a deposit but would expect you to pay for any damage occurring during
the hire period.


Do I have to pay a deposit to secure my booking?
For one off bookings we expect full payment in advance. Please speak to the bookings team if this is
not possible
