STREET 2 STUDIO

WHAT IS STREET2STUDIO?

Run from a professional music recording studio in the Southside Youth Hub, trainees come in for one session a week building skills around recording, editing and all aspects of music production, as well as developing an understanding of the wider music industry. This includes up to two hours of personal tuition time.

Providing practical pathways for those who aspire to work in the music industry is a key attraction, although the experience and skills are transferable to all walks of employment.

 Participants can expect to:

  • Develop production skills

  • Gain knowledge of the music industry

  • Improve self-confidence and wellbeing

  • Develop fine motor skills

  • Develop a range of soft skills that are essential for progressing into work

  • Utilise industry-standard software

  • Develop time and project management skills

Street2Studio's mentor & trainer is local musician and DJ Clive ‘Flash’ who delivered a similar project for B&NES from 2005-18. Flash’s skill set and approach has a great record of making a significant difference to the lives of young people with fewer opportunities. Our customised learning is designed to help people reach their goals and fulfil their potential.

Street2Studio is run in partnership with Sound Vision and with the support of Bath Boules Charitable Trust.
