Living in a village can sometimes feel a bit isolating especially if you are a young person. The mobile Youth Provision operated by Youth Connect Southwest brings a weekly youth club on wheels to villages in the Somer valley, a service that has been in operation for over 8 years.

The sessions provide a range of activities such crafts, outdoor skills and sport, there is also a curriculum that teaches young people about personal and social develop, with topics such as sexual health, money management and person safety.

Alex Monk who accessed the service when he was a young person, has just been appointed as the Youth Leader for the mobile. Alex said “this service made a big difference to me and my friends growing up, I’m really glad to be able to do the same for this generation of young people”. Zac (14) from Paulton who attends said “Alex started a few weeks ago, I think he’s pretty sound”.
