Youth Connect South West's young people's awards 2020

2020 was a tough year for everyone, but along the way Youth Connect South West witnessed some outstanding personal effort by young people to improve their own situations through their hard work and tenacity. Originally scheduled for November 2020, the Young People’s Awards were part of Youth Connect’s first birthday celebrations. Now the awards will take place virtually and will tell the stories of five amazing young people and celebrate their achievements.

Youth Connect South West's photography competition

We invited people to enter images taken over the last year to this year's photography competition. There was no theme except that it should be a photo they really liked or was special to them.

Over the past 18 months Youth Connect (formally an in-house B&NES council service) has been in the process of developing a Staff Mutual, which saw them spin out of the Council as an independent charity- Youth Connect South West- from November 2019!  Preserving youth services for B&NES and beyond. Current referrals are not affected by this change.

"Whilst working through these changes the service must be commended for their continued commitment to supporting vulnerable young people and their pragmatism in overcoming uncertainty and unprecedented change."
