Important notice: Southside Community Café

It is with great difficulty and sadness that we have to announce the closure of the community café at Southside Youth Hub.

Although the café is popular amongst many people the reality of running a commercial café has meant that the charity Youth Connect South West has had to subsidize the café for several years.

The cost of electricity, food price increases and staff wages has meant that the café is unable to cover its costs and in fact, makes a loss, therefore we have made the difficult decision to close at the end of March 2024.

The public access to the café space and soft play will remain and we will develop ways to offer refreshments while you are here,

Long term we would like to explore options regarding the use of the café to provide healthy low-cost foods to support local people.

We welcome any approaches regarding the use of the kitchen and café area.
