2020 was a tough year for everyone, but along the way Youth Connect South West witnessed some outstanding personal effort by young people to improve their own situations through their hard work and tenacity. Originally scheduled for November 2020, the Young People’s Awards were part of Youth Connect’s first birthday celebrations. Now the awards will take place virtually and will tell the stories of five amazing young people and celebrate their achievements. On Friday 26th February the awards will be premiered on YouTube at 7pm; Youth Connect hope that people will watch and celebrate with them. Tracey Pike CEO said, “We are immensely proud of all the young people who were nominated for an award. The five young people were selected by the panel to receive this special award because of the incredible personal journey and barriers they have overcome. This year has been a particularly difficult one for everybody and I would like to pay tribute to all the young people, and staff, who have worked hard across the whole organisation. Empowering, supporting and increasing services for young people is the reason why the charity exists.”

The Awards will showcase the work of Youth Connect including their community youth work, targeted support service and their educational programmes. The awards also feature a performance from a very talented young music artist who is working with Youth Connect Music programme (Street2Studio).

If you would like to watch the awards we will be adding a button before the event to send you direct to the video or you can watch in the viewer above on the night.
