SUPPORTING RADSTOCK

Support for young people in Radstock

As you may be aware, on Sunday 31st July there was a fatal incident in Radstock involving a young person. We are very aware of the impact this incident is having on the community and we have particular concern for young people in the area.

We have set up this page to inform where support can be found today

Youth Connect South West have set up a drop-in where young people can go if they need somewhere to be or someone to talk to. We are based at Radstock Youth Hub during the following times:

Wednesday 17th 6pm - 7pm for those wanting support.

Youth Connect South West will also be out in the community offering support for young people.

Checking in

An event to support parents, carers & the community

Wednesday 10th August

6:00pm - 8:30pm

The Methodist Centre, The Street, Radstock, BA3 3PL

We have seen how our community have been affected by the events of the 31st July. We want to help by sharing advice on how to check in and support someone who is grieving.

The purpose of this event is to offer:

  • Advice on grief and bereavement (young people + adults/parents/carers). Information supplied by the Education Psychology Team and a GP from The Hope House Centre

  • Advice on safety for parents in relation to their young people. Information supplied by the police

The event's recordings can be found at the bottom of this page and on our YouTube channel.
